About the Photographic &
Printing Process
All
WhyteScapes
images are captured with professional Nikon 35mm cameras
and lenses using professional 35mm slide film, (usually Kodak E100VS or Fuji Velvia, depending on subject).
The professionally processed chromes are then edited and scanned
at 5400 pixels per inch, 48-bit color, using a professional Film
Scanner. Scratches, film grain, and "digital noise" are removed by 4X
over-scanning and special
software.
The resulting digital image is then edited in Adobe Photoshop®
CS2 to
insure the highest quality final print which represents the photographer's
original vision and intent. Images are never
"manipulated" or "enhanced" beyond what is necessary to bring you the
photographer's original vision and the highest quality photographic print.
Images are then printed with Epson
UltraChrome®
pigment ink onto specialty papers, or a
LightJet® printer on conventional
photographic paper.
The final prints are far superior in detail and
color quality to what you see on your computer screen. (5x computer screen
resolution) and are optimized for viewing in home or office lighting.
Final prints are then inspected, and if satisfactory, are signed
by the artist. Signed prints may then be framed or protected with a durable,
glare-free ColorPlak® lamination process, guaranteeing long life, durability and a beautiful
original art print for your home or business.
Enjoy!
